Trail-Gator Bicycle Tow Bar

The Trail-Gator Bicycle Tow Bar converts an ordinary child’s bike into a safe, towable trailer bike, whenever desired.

Together with your child you choose whether to ride attached or independently according to the riding situation. This provides useful riding flexibility for long rides or that busy road while enabling your child to break free when they have the energy and confidence.
Children can choose to coast or pedal while they are being towed, making long rides much easier for them.
You can now take on hills and go on rides that you otherwise would not attempt with your child – and if you need to you can get there faster.

To ride attached, simply unclip the tow bar from the stored position on the adult bike, extend it, and connect it to the receiver, which is mounted on the child’s bike.
When the child’s bike is connected, the front wheel is lifted off the ground (to a safe and comfortable angle) and a stabilising bar prevents the handlebars from turning, leaving the adult in control of steering.

Child Bike:

  • Rear free wheel capability required – i.e. bike capable of coasting without peddling
  • 12″ – 20″ (305mm – 508mm) tyre diameter – measurement marked on the tyre rim
  • Maximum head tube diameter 1.77″ (45mm)
  • The handlebar stabiliser rod clamps will fit from 7/8″ (22mm) to 1.25″ (32mm) and can either be mounted on the child bike front fork or the handlebars
  • Any trainer wheels must be removed or stored up away from the ground
